Cat Dental Care

Cats present a unique challenge to veterinarians, regarding both dentistry and anesthesia. At Animal Dental Specialists of Nevada, we are familiar with the unique needs of our feline patients. Cats are subject to tooth fractures and periodontal disease like dogs are. However, there are also some differences in their response and treatment. A particularly complex problem in cats is gingivostomatitis. This is a complex hyperimmune response that causes pain and compromised quality of life for the affected cats. This condition requires precise treatment, and even then, does not always respond. Appropriate treatment and treatment timing can affect the potential for a cat to respond to treatment.
