27 Nov Case Blog: Peggy with the Animal Foundation of Las Vegas
This blog post is featuring a patient that we had the pleasure of treating. Please meet Peggy! She was brought to the Animal Foundation in May of 2024. Peggy had unfortunately suffered severe trauma to the right side of her body that resulted in her right front limb being amputated and left a deformity on her right upper lip. Despite her hardships, Peggy was not going to let her injuries keep her down. The Animal Foundation described her as sweet and a fighter! By utilizing pet reconstructive surgery, we were able to help Peggy recover from her injuries.
Peggy’s Treatment
Her dentition played a role in the lip deformity she had, so the Animal Foundation sought out the help of our local board-certified veterinary dentist, Dr. Hewitt. Dr. Hewitt was able to reconstruct her upper lip to provide Peggy more comfort and subsequently increase her chances of being adopted and finding her forever home. Peggy’s reconstructive surgery went very well!
We are ecstatic to report that Peggy’s foster mom decided to keep her and Peggy is now in a wonderful, safe home with some other fur friends to keep her company.

The Animal Foundation is a non-profit organization operating in Las Vegas. Thanks to their phenomenal fundraising efforts and the amazing community that contributed, Peggy’s procedure was completely covered by those funds.
